In order to fully utilize the Site, you may be required to register by providing certain nonpublic personally identifiable information, including without limitation your name, email address and zip/postal code. However, if you choose not to provide certain information, certain features of the Site may not be available to you. By way of example, you may provide personal information in the following circumstances:
Customer Service Inquiries. Name and email are necessary to provide this service, in addition to any other personal information you provide in your email to SSB so that SSB representatives can assist you. SSB saves messages and/or e-mail addresses if it will need to refer to them later to communicate with you about a customer service issue or to send you information that you have indicated you would like to receive.
Newsletters and Promotions. You will need to register with your name and email address if you want to access newsletters or information on special promotions.
Email Notifications. You may request that information be sent via email to you or a third party. The email address you provide will be used to send the information to, and a confirmation email will be sent to your email address. If you request that an email be sent to a third party, you are responsible for obtaining the consent of the third party to our use of the third party’s email address for this purpose.
Content You Provide. Certain portions of the Site may permit you to voluntarily provide feedback, comments or input such as tips, advice, product opinions and the like. You are solely responsible for the personally identifiable information or other content on or through the Site. You understand that personal and other information that you post on or through public areas of the Site are generally accessible to, and may be collected and used by, others and may result in unsolicited messages or other contact from others. Users of the Site are encouraged to exercise caution when posting personally identifiable information about themselves online. If you elect to use any of our referral services to inform a third party about the Site, or if you otherwise provide a third party’s personal information to us, you warrant that you have permission to do so and you agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless SSB, its affiliates and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, costs and expenses arising in connection with your provision of that information. All of this information may be stored by SSB and posted on the Site to share the benefit of this information with other users. SSB will not post or use your personal information unless it has first obtained your consent to this use.
Contests and Sweepstakes. When you use the information on your warranty card to fill out a consumer survey and/or enter a giveaway on one of the Site, you are providing information to a Web site owned and operated by a third party on behalf of SSB (“Third Party”). Please note that any information that you submit to the Third Party is governed by the Third Party’s privacy policy, not this Privacy Policy. Additionally, you may choose to enter contests or sweepstakes via the Site as offered from time to time. SSB may use and disclose the information that you submit to the Third Party or for other contests or giveaways you enter via the Site to inform you of special offers which may be forthcoming, and to send you coupons, and to tell you about SSB products and services and those of SSB affiliates that relate directly to your specific interests, hobbies or other information you have submitted.
